Complex Care Support Worker, Braintree Essex

Maplewood Independent Living is looking for a fun, energetic, and compassionate individual to join a small, dedicated care team supporting an adult with complex medical and care needs in her own home in Braintree.

This is a special role for someone who brings positive energy, warmth, and initiative into everything they do. You’ll be part of a close-knit, supportive team, helping to create a calm, engaging, and empowering environment day to day.

Shift Patterns:

A mix of day, evening, and overnight shifts are available. Weekend availability is preferred.

Drivers are desirable but not essential, as longer shifts can be provided.

The Role
  • Work as part of an established team to support and maintain the client’s independence at home.
  • Confidently assist with personal care, medication and daily routines.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure the client’s health, safety, and wellbeing at all times.
  • Communicate regularly with the branch manager and team.
The Requirements
  • Right to work in the UK (required).
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
  • Reliable, professional, and caring attitude.
  • Respect for client dignity, independence, and confidentiality.
  • Comfortable using a smartphone (training provided for care app).
Desired Skills
  • Previous care experience is beneficial, but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills – good standard of spoken and written English.
  • Able to work on their own initiative.
  • Good timekeeping and reliability.
  • Naturally upbeat with a good sense of humour.
  • Trustworthy and professional.
  • A genuine “people person” who can lift the atmosphere around them.
