Alice Carre

Branch Manager, Bury St Edmunds
I joined Maplewood in August 2025 as Branch Manager for the Bury St Edmunds service. Prior to that, I worked as a Registered Manager for another care provider for two years and have a background in nursing care and intermediate care. I also have a level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Adult Social Care. For me, care is the glue that binds families and society together and I now couldn't imagine working in any other industry.

Rebecca Stracey

Recruitment Consultant
I’m a Recruitment Consultant at Maplewood Independent Living, specialising in connecting compassionate carers and support workers with rewarding opportunities.

With over six years of hands-on experience in care and support roles before moving into recruitment, I bring real understanding of what makes a great carer — empathy, reliability, and a genuine passion for helping others.

I’m proud to now use that insight to grow our dedicated team at Maplewood Independent Living. I’m always happy to chat with people who share our dedication to delivering outstanding care and making a difference every day.

Whether you’re an experienced carer or just starting your journey in the sector, feel free to reach out if you’re looking to join a supportive, professional, and caring organisation, or just want to learn more about what we do.

Kerry Hammond

Administrator
I started working in the care sector after caring for my mother, alongside my siblings, who was diagnosed with vascular dementia. After my mother's passing I wanted to put back into the community the support that was given to mum and the family, so I became a carer, and didn't look back; it gave me great pride that I helped people to be able to stay at home.

Unfortunately, after an injury, I was unable to work as a carer, however, I still wanted to work in the care sector, which brought me to where I am today, at Maplewood as administrator.

Joti Kaur-Patel

Care Manager
I first discovered my passion for care while at university, where I took on a part-time role as a carer. I instantly fell in love with the sector, meeting incredible clients and making a real difference in people’s lives truly shaped my future.

Over the years, I’ve taken on a variety of roles, including Coordinator, Customer Service Manager, Deputy Manager, and for the past nine years, Care Manager. Through these experiences, I’ve seen both good and bad care, and it’s made me even more determined to ensure that everyone receives the best possible support because everyone deserves high-quality care.

Having been a carer myself, I understand the challenges and rewards of the job. That’s why I’m passionate about making sure my team feels heard, supported, and valued. They do such an amazing job every single day.

What I love most about my role is the people I meet, each with their own stories, experiences, and wisdom. Every day is a chance to learn, grow, and be inspired.

Local Partnerships & Community Involvement

Stronger Together – Connecting with local community groups and organisations.

At Maplewood, we believe we are stronger together. We’ve joined forces with local groups like dementia cafes and community clubs to help families get the care they need.

Working together, we share support, care, and hope.
